State Champs have released their latest single, “Light Blue,” from their highly anticipated self-titled album, set to drop on November 8 via Pure Noise Records.
In discussing the new track, the band expressed, “Have you ever been transported back in time, for better or for worse, simply by the smell of something or someone? Inspired by Dan & Shay’s ‘Tequila,’ we put our energetic spin on this concept with ‘Light Blue.’” The song is described as a light-hearted journey through memories, featuring airy, bouncy guitars and pop arrangements that build to a powerful, fuzzed-out chorus. “It will have you banging your head in between memories you didn’t ask to be dug back up,” they added.
With “Light Blue,” State Champs continues to showcase their signature sound while inviting listeners to reflect on the bittersweet nature of nostalgia.
