Jeremy Martin’s passion for country music has reached a new milestone as his radio show, Century of Country, recently celebrated its 100th episode. The show, which chronicles the history and evolution of country music, hit the milestone on Thursday, September 26, and is set to mark its two-year anniversary on Thursday, October 3, on Ripley-based Kudzu 104.9.
Reflecting on the journey, Martin expressed his surprise and gratitude for how far the show has come. “It’s truly a surprise,” he said. “I grew up around country music in Eggville, Mississippi, surrounded by musicians. My grandmother, who had a deep love for country music, really influenced me. She not only listened but also explored who played what instruments, who recorded the songs, and how many versions existed. It became a connection between us.”
Martin shared that the inspiration for Century of Country had been brewing for years, but it finally came to fruition three years ago. “God’s timing is far better than mine. I had always thought this would be a cool thing to do one day, and one day finally came,” he said.
With its two-year anniversary on the horizon, Century of Country continues to captivate listeners with stories about the rich history of the genre, and Martin shows no signs of slowing down.
