Country music fans can look forward to a memorable weekend as Grammy-nominated artist John Berry takes the stage at Lakeside’s Orchestra Hall on Saturday, October 12, for two performances at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Known for his chart-topping hits from the 1990s, including “She’s Taken a Shine,” “Your Love Amazes Me,” and “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye,” Berry’s music continues to resonate with audiences.
With 20 singles charting during his career, including five that reached the top five, Berry’s journey has been both inspiring and tumultuous. Influenced by artists such as John Denver, James Taylor, and Harry Chapin, Berry began playing guitar at the age of 12. His talent flourished during a challenging recovery from a motorcycle accident that left him with two broken legs and a broken hip, compelling him to focus on his music during rehabilitation.
A respected figure in the country music scene, Berry was nominated for the ACM Top New Male Vocalist in 1994 and received nominations for the CMA Horizon Award and Top Male Vocalist Award in 1996. He earned a Grammy in 1996 for his contribution to Amazing Grace: A Country Salute to Gospel, Vol. 1.
Tickets for the concert are priced at $25 for all ages, with free parking available. Fans can purchase tickets at Lakeside Ohio’s event page.
In addition to the concert, Lakeside is offering a “Fall Escape” package featuring a discounted rate at the Fountain Inn. Guests can enjoy a two-night stay for $89 per night (plus tax) with a two-night minimum. This package allows visitors to experience shopping and dining in the vibrant Lakeside community while soaking in the autumn scenery along Lake Erie. Note that the Fall Escape offer excludes certain weekends and discounts. To book, visit Lakeside’s hotel page and use promo code “FallEscape.”
