On September 27, singer-songwriter Steve Erickson unveiled his latest project, Retrospective, a compilation album that showcases his musical journey over the past decade. The 15-track album features standout selections from Erickson’s previous four releases: It’s About Time, Music Tonight, Moving On, and the critically acclaimed Crooked Road from 2024.
Hailing from Asheville, North Carolina, Erickson masterfully blends elements of folk, Americana, blues, and country, while infusing his work with the meditative sounds of traditional Appalachian music. Reflecting on the album, Erickson stated, “It’s been great to take stock after producing four albums to present a larger collection of these songs. After a decade of recording, it seemed like the right time to review some of my favorites.”
Retrospective highlights Erickson’s exceptional storytelling ability, enriched by his rich, resonant vocals and skilled guitar playing. This collection offers a heartfelt look back at his deeply moving music, inviting listeners to appreciate the depth and evolution of his artistry.
