Vancouver Island’s multi-instrumentalist and producer Mr. Missy, the alter ego of Marc Robichaud, has made a triumphant return to music with his latest album, Looking For You. This marks his first release in 15 years, showcasing a rich blend of Americana, blues, folk, rock, and country western swing.
Looking For You is designed as a narrative journey, with each song contributing to a cohesive exploration of the universal human experience of self-discovery. The album is characterized by its vibrant rawness and fluidity, reflecting an organic approach to music-making.
In a nod to the creativity behind the album, Mr. Missy quoted The Tubes: “This record you are now playing is another example of the completion backward principle; if you can possibly manage the time, please play both sides at one meeting.”
In an interview with V13, Mr. Missy discussed his musical beginnings, the reasons behind his lengthy hiatus, and what inspired his return to the industry.
