Cassadee Pope is embracing a new chapter in her career after leaving country music in 2022, stating she has never felt happier since releasing her latest album, Hereditary.
In an exclusive interview with OK! prior to her September 27 show at Irving Plaza, the 35-year-old artist described the album creation process as “very freeing.” She noted, “Even during the making of the album, I didn’t really have management directing me. On the creative side, it was just me and my friends writing and making music. It felt freeing, and it felt low stakes because I’m at the point where I’m just having fun, and I want that to be the focus.”
Pope believes this sense of freedom resonates with her audience, saying, “It really has translated, and people are hearing that in my music and seeing themselves in it. It feels really authentic.” Currently, she is opening for the multi-platinum-selling Canadian pop-rock band Marianas Trench.
