Jelly Roll is set to release his highly anticipated album, Beautifully Broken, on Friday, October 11. Ahead of the launch, the country star shared insights into the creative process during an appearance on Taste of Country Nights.
In a remarkable display of creativity, Jelly Roll wrote an astonishing 150 songs while crafting this project. “There’s a lot of storytelling on this album. I wrote probably a hundred and some songs last year, maybe 150 plus, trying to figure this album out,” he revealed.
The artist credits his devoted fanbase, affectionately known as his “Bad Apples,” for driving his creativity. Jelly Roll emphasized that every song on Beautifully Broken was inspired by the heartfelt stories shared with him by fans. “I’ve never been so inspired. I was getting so many stories,” he explained. “People were pouring into me. I’m at gas stations and red carpets, and I’m hearing life stories from people—really inspiring stories.”
With such an abundance of material, Jelly Roll faced the challenging task of narrowing down the 150-plus songs to a cohesive album. According to Apple Music, the final project will feature 22 tracks.
As a gesture of gratitude to his fans, Jelly Roll is currently on his Beautifully Broken Tour, with performances scheduled through the end of the year.
