The ABAC Tribute Series is set to open on Tuesday, October 22, with the ‘70s Rock Revival: The Troubadour Project at Howard Auditorium. This Atlanta-based band brings classic rock anthems to life, performing hits from icons like Carole King, The Eagles, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Foreigner, Queen, and The Rolling Stones.
The six-member band features vocalists Jim Stapley and Jessie Albright, guitarist Scott Patton, bassist Tim Smith, keyboardist Eric Baumgartner, and drummer Paul Barrie. Together, they capture the energy of the 1970s, celebrating the decade that helped define rock music. “This group is one of the most dynamic celebrations of the music of the ’70s I’ve ever seen,” said Wayne Jones, Arts Connection director. “It’s a fantastic production and phenomenal music.”
The ABAC Tribute Series showcases both original artists and tribute acts honoring legends from rock, soul, country, and rhythm and blues. Following The Troubadour Project, the series will continue with “A1A – the Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show” on January 21, and “The Highwaymen Show: American Outlaw Tribute” on April 3.
All concerts start at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the series vary, with a full subscription priced at $65.
