Boslen, a hip-hop artist raised in Chilliwack, has released his latest single, “Sunday Shoes,” along with an accompanying music video. The track, which debuted on October 4, highlights Boslen’s growth as a multi-talented artist, producer, and storyteller.
Produced by Jared Manierka, known for his work with Carly Rae Jepsen, and co-produced by Boslen, the single marks a milestone in his career as it’s his first project where he took on production, writing, directing, and arranging responsibilities. Reflecting on the journey, Boslen said, “It took me not being able to release music for 11 months to realize how important just working with what you have is. This is the first time I’m producing, writing, directing, and arranging everything for an experience like this.”
“Sunday Shoes” captures Boslen’s journey of self-discovery and artistic freedom, blending raw honesty with melodic finesse. The song invites listeners into his world of vulnerability and growth, encouraging them to embrace authenticity.
The music video, co-directed and edited by Boslen and Kai Lewis and co-produced with Ronan Bryson and Tatum McLean, visually reflects the track’s themes of boldness and self-expression. Drawing from his personal experiences, Boslen urges fans to be “free thinkers, risk takers, ones who aren’t afraid of just putting their phone down and being present.”
As Boslen hinted, this release is just “the tip of the iceberg” for his upcoming album Pilgrims, expected in early 2025.
