CLIPPED Music Video Festival Returns with Full Program

by Barbara

Australia’s only dedicated music video festival, the CLIPPED Music Video Festival, is set to return with its first comprehensive program since 2019. The festival will take place at Ritz Cinemas in Randwick, NSW, on Sunday, October 27.

CLIPPED was established to celebrate the artistry of music videos and features a diverse lineup that includes an awards show, exclusive premieres, industry panels, and a conversation with internationally acclaimed director Shane Drake. Drake has directed over 150 music videos for notable artists such as Avril Lavigne, Panic! At the Disco, Paramore, Timbaland, Flo Rida, and Keith Urban.

The event will kick off with Stories on Screen, showcasing narrative music videos created by Australian filmmakers. Following this, a Directors Discussion Panel will provide a platform for some of Australia’s top music video directors, including Sanjay De Silva (DIVISION), Michael Hili (FINCH), VERSUS, and Felicity Jayn Heath (The Preserve). These directors have collaborated with global artists like Sampa The Great, The Killers, Flume, Genesis Owusu, and Clara Fable, offering attendees valuable insights into the industry’s current landscape and the creative processes behind some of the nation’s most visually stunning music videos.
