The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will soon unveil a new exhibition dedicated to the influential career of Rosanne Cash. Titled Rosanne Cash: Time Is a Mirror, the exhibit will delve into Cash’s over 40-year journey as a musician, songwriter, and storyteller, highlighting her role in both preserving and reshaping musical traditions. The exhibition opens on December 5 and will run through March 2026, included with museum admission.
Spanning from the 1970s to today, Cash’s career has made an indelible mark on American music, blending rockabilly, folk-rock, West Coast country-rock, and classic country sounds. She has won four Grammy Awards and is celebrated for hits such as “Seven Year Ache,” “Blue Moon with Heartache,” and “Tennessee Flat Top Box.” In 2021, she became the first female composer to receive the prestigious MacDowell Medal for outstanding contributions to American culture.
Kyle Young, CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, praised Cash’s genre-blending style: “Her music moves across genres and legacies, looking backward and forward in time. She has turned musical traditions in fresh and unexpected directions.”
Reflecting on the honor, Cash shared her gratitude: “I’m sincerely humbled, as I have so much respect for the mission of the museum. It’s been a thrill to sort through the artifacts of my life and career with the curators. I have thought about my children a lot while sorting items, listening to songs, and discussing the exhibit. I’m extraordinarily grateful for this tribute and the opportunity to deepen my relationship with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.”
