The highly anticipated GoldenSky Country Music Festival kicked off its 2024 edition on Friday night at Sacramento’s Discovery Park, marking the first time the festival has expanded to a three-day event. Running from October 18 to 20, organizers expect more than 75,000 attendees throughout the weekend.
“We heard from so many fans that they wanted more,” said Chamie McCurry, General Manager of Danny Wimmer Presents, the festival’s organizer. “We’re so happy to see how it’s grown from its first year to what it is today.”
The festival’s expansion isn’t just a win for country music fans but also for Sacramento’s local economy. Mike Testa, President of Visit Sacramento, highlighted the economic boost the city is experiencing, saying, “To get travelers to come in, people who don’t live in Sacramento, and capture them to stay a little bit longer in the market is a big win.”
Gates are set to open at 12:30 p.m. each day, and tickets are still available online for those eager to join the festivities. GoldenSky 2024 promises to be an unforgettable weekend of live country music and community celebration.
