Country music star Brian Kelley has unveiled his sophomore album, Ed & Mary Margaret’s Son, marking a significant moment in his music career.
Kelley describes the recording process as unexpected, with the songs created recently rather than drawn from past years. “To be honest with you, this record caught me off guard,” he said in a statement. “But once I had an inkling of what it could be, it was a moment I didn’t want to pass up.”
He emphasizes that all the tracks are brand new, inspired in part by his parents. “These aren’t songs that were written two or three years ago; this is a chapter in time,” Kelley explained. “It’s a season, and the way this record sounds, it’s the soundtrack to my life these past couple of months. So, I just went for it.”
Ed & Mary Margaret’s Son is Kelley’s second full-length release with Big Machine Records, following his debut album, Tennessee Truth, which was released in March.
