Country music star Jelly Roll held a heartfelt private concert for the faculty and students of Apalachee High School in Georgia, aiming to promote healing and unity in the wake of September’s tragic shooting.
“This private event aims to foster healing and unity for the students, faculty, and families of Apalachee High School as they come together to reflect and support one another following September’s tragedy,” the City of Winder shared on Facebook.
The shooting on September 4 claimed the lives of two 14-year-old students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, as well as teachers Cristina Irimie and Richard Aspinwall. In a related legal development, 14-year-old Colt Gray, the alleged shooter, pleaded not guilty to 55 charges, including felony and malice murder, according to court documents. Gray and his attorney waived a formal arraignment and requested a jury trial.
Additionally, his father, Colin Gray, has been charged and indicted on 29 counts, including second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Authorities allege that he provided Colt access to the firearm used in the shooting.
