Country music artist Joe Nichols has unveiled his latest album, Honky Tonks and Country Songs, available now through Quartz Hill Records.
The album’s lead single, “Better Than You,” has made a significant impact on country radio, ranking among the top five most-added songs for four consecutive weeks, even before its official release date. This emotionally resonant duet features rising star Annie Bosko and explores themes of love at first sight and the irreplaceable feeling of true connection.
Other standout tracks from the album include “Doin’ Life With You,” “Bottle It Up,” “Helpless in a Honky Tonk,” “Hard Fires,” and a cover of Hank Williams Jr.’s classic “Country Boy Can Survive,” which has quickly become a fan favorite at Nichols’ live performances.
Reflecting on the album, Nichols shared, “My favorite thing about making this new album was that I think my voice is in good shape right now—the best shape it’s been in years. In the studio, I felt more true to myself and how I started than I have in several records. We had some great country songs, and I felt like we could lay back and capture those ‘old-school me’ vocals.”
Last week, Nichols celebrated the launch of his album at Gilley’s Dallas, headlining an event that marked the 21st anniversary of the iconic honky tonk.
