Danny Brown is preparing to release his next album, which he describes as a significant departure from his previous work, a transformation influenced by his journey to sobriety.
The Michigan rapper told that he is in the final stages of completing the project. “This album, I will say, it’s the most different shit I ever did,” Brown stated. “It’s the first album I made since being sober, so I think already it’s my favorite album, just because of that. I didn’t know how to do it anymore; I was always getting fucked up in the studio, just making lightning-in-a-bottle type shit happen.”
Brown emphasized his commitment to the album, saying he worked “extra harder” on it because he wanted to defy the stereotype that sobriety negatively impacts an artist’s music. “I had that chip on my shoulder to be like, I can’t suck,” he added.
