In the wake of his recent breakup with Brianna LaPaglia, country music artist Zach Bryan appears undeterred, channeling his energy into his upcoming album.
Just over a week after teasing an unreleased track titled “Rockaway,” the acclaimed artist returned to Instagram with a clip of another new song, “All Good Things Past.” This bittersweet piece showcases a fuller sound than his typical demos, featuring five band members, including a saxophonist and trumpeter. In keeping with his signature bare-bones, anti-commercial aesthetic, the clip was recorded in what seems to be a stable.
The song carries a quietly hopeful tone, reflecting Bryan’s trademark wistfulness and nostalgia. His lyrics evoke vivid, sepia-toned scenes of country life, such as in the lines: “And the coming of the Lord couldn’t keep me from / A down South comeback smile / That Oklahoman, popsicle frozen / Empties on a burn pile.” As fans eagerly anticipate his new material, Bryan’s focus remains steadfast on his music.
