Nine-time Golden Guitar winner Adam Harvey has released his latest album, Let the Song Take You Home, which includes the poignant track “Remember Me,” inspired by his mother’s struggle with dementia. Harvey recalled a moment when his mother jokingly told him he was like the son she “never, ever had,” a comment he initially took lightly, only to realize she was serious.
As an Ambassador for Dementia Australia, Harvey has become acutely aware of the many families across the country facing similar challenges. “My mother’s diagnosis opened my eyes to the widespread impact of dementia,” he shared with ABC News.
The album also features the previously released hit “It’s Gettin’ Late,” which has gained significant traction on country music airplay charts. Other notable tracks include “Sail Away,” originally recorded by Kenny Rogers in 1978, the humorous “What’s a Man Gotta Do,” and the title track, which reflects on the deep connections between music and memory.
