K-pop star Kang Daniel is poised for his next chapter in music with the release of his new EP, Act. The 27-year-old artist presents a duality in his persona—commanding the stage with high-energy performances of his latest single “Electric Shock,” while also showing a more introspective side during a recent Zoom interview from Seoul.
Kang’s journey in the music industry began at age 20 when he won the second season of the popular Korean competition show Produce 101, which led to his formation in the temporary boy group Wanna One. After a successful year and a half with the group, he ventured into a solo career, building a loyal fanbase known as FLOWD.
With the release of Act, Kang has signed with a new management company, Artistic Round Alliance (ARA), following the closure of his own agency, Konnect Entertainment, due to embezzlement issues involving a major shareholder. As he embarks on this new path, Kang Daniel continues to evolve as an artist, blending his dynamic stage presence with a more personal approach to his pop music.
