Andrew Picoleau, Member of The Metronomes, Passes Away

by Barbara

Andrew Picoleau, a founding member of the iconic ’80s rock band The Metronomes, has died after a prolonged illness. The band announced the news on their official Facebook page.

“It is with deep sadness and profound heartbreak that we share the passing of Andrew Picoleau, a gifted bass player, creative musician, and wonderful singer,” wrote band member Al Webb. “Ash Wednesday and I have been making music with Andrew on and off for over 40 years. Every time we reunited, even after long breaks of up to 20 years, our conversations flowed effortlessly, and the ideas kept coming. Whatever the musical outcome—and we had our moments—the joy of creating together never waned. It’s hard to believe we won’t gather again to create something new; it felt like it would last forever.”
