Mumbai-based heavy metal veterans Zygnema are back with a bang, releasing the music video for their single Grind on November 20, 2024. The track, part of their latest EP Iconic, marks another milestone for the band, which has been a staple in the Indian metal scene since their formation in 2008.
Known for their powerful sound that blends traditional Indian musical elements with modern groove metal, Zygnema first gained widespread recognition with their debut album Born of Unity in 2010. The band’s ascent in the heavy metal world was swift, winning multiple accolades at the Rolling Stone Metal Awards in 2011, 2014, and 2016. Their electrifying live performances have earned them spots at prestigious festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Inferno Metal Fest, where they’ve shared stages with international giants like Megadeth, Behemoth, In Flames, and Opeth.
Grind, the latest single from their March 2024 EP Iconic, pays tribute to the vibrant spirit of Mumbai and the resilient people who call it home. The track embodies the band’s pride in their city, offering an intense, headbanging blend of konnakols (Indian vocal percussion) and heavy metal riffs that capture the essence of modern-day survival in a fast-paced world.
