Sturgill Simpson, the fiercely independent and highly respected artist known for his genre-defying sound, is gearing up for a monumental return to music with his upcoming album Passage Du Desir. Under the new moniker of Johnny Blue Skies, Simpson, alongside his band, will embark on his first full tour in over four years, dubbed the “Why Not? Tour.” This extensive tour will see the artist perform at some of the most iconic venues across the U.S., including L.A.’s The Greek Theatre, Chicago’s Salt Shed, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and Washington’s The Gorge Amphitheatre, among others.

Simpson’s new album Passage Du Desir, which features eight tracks, was recorded at both Clement House Recording Studio in Nashville and Abbey Road Studios in London. Produced by Simpson (as Johnny Blue Skies) and David Ferguson, the album marks a bold new chapter for the artist. Fans will also experience a special guest performance by Johnny Blue Skies during the tour.

The “Why Not? Tour” will feature some of Simpson’s most beloved hits, as well as fresh material from the new album. Along with his talented bandmates—Kevin Black (bass), Robbie Crowell (keys), Laur Joamets (guitar), and Miles Miller (drums)—Simpson will bring his unique fusion of country music, rock, and americana to the stage. The tour is poised to include appearances at major festivals such as Outside Lands and Austin City Limits.
