Eminem, Alanis Morissette, N.W.A., and Janet Jackson are among the artists nominated for the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame, marking a major milestone in their careers. Alongside them, legendary figures such as Bryan Adams, known for timeless hits like “Summer of ’69” and “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?”, and Mike Love of The Beach Boys, are vying for a place in the Hall. Love’s nomination comes 25 years after fellow Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson’s induction.
In addition to these performers, notable non-performers on the ballot include Walter Afanasieff, the mastermind behind Mariah Carey’s holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You”; Mike Chapman, co-writer of Pat Benatar’s “Love Is a Battlefield”; and Narada Michael Walden, who contributed to Whitney Houston’s “How Will I Know” and Aretha Franklin’s “Freeway of Love.” The Songwriters Hall of Fame annually honors those who have made significant contributions to music through both performing and songwriting.
