Edmonton experienced a $16 million economic surge during the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards held September. The week-long celebration brought a significant influx of visitors, with hotels, restaurants, venues, and stores benefiting from the presence of artists, crews, and country music fans.
“Events like the CCMAs don’t just entertain – they elevate our economy, support local businesses, and amplify Edmonton’s cultural presence,” said Cindy Medynski, director of sport and culture events at Explore Edmonton. “This impact reverberates through every corner of our community, supporting jobs, driving growth, and creating memorable experiences that keep visitors coming back.”
Throughout Country Music Week 2024, more than 46 events took place, showcasing over 200 artists. The CCMA Awards ceremony on September 14 drew a sold-out crowd of 14,000 at Rogers Place, marking the largest attendance in the event’s history.
