Kelly Clarkson is back with another standout performance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, this time putting her own country twist on Sabrina Carpenter’s hit single “Please Please Please.”
The talk show host and powerhouse vocalist, known for her vocal versatility, gave the pop anthem a fresh spin with a soulful country music rendition. Clarkson, 42, shared her inspiration for the cover in an Instagram post, revealing that she’s always felt the song “lends itself” to a country interpretation.
“I asked my band if we could make like more of a country version of it,” Clarkson explained. “I love that song and I love when a song is so good that you can kind of go into different genres with it.”
The American Idol winner also took a moment to thank Carpenter for releasing the song and for allowing her to put her own spin on it. With her unique vocal style, Clarkson continues to prove her ability to make any song her own—no matter the genre.
