Country music star Quinton Blair was honored with the Male Artist of the Year award at the 2024 Manitoba Country Music Awards, marking a major milestone in his career. Reflecting on the achievement, Blair expressed his gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the importance of his dedicated bandmates in his success.
“It’s nice to know that your peers recognize the hard work you put in every day,” Blair said. “It’s a testament to the effort of my band, who show up every night with me. We work hard, and it’s rewarding to see that hard work pay off.”
Blair’s win is part of a remarkable showing by artists from Portage la Prairie, where Nelson Little claimed the Roots Artist, Duo or Group of the Year award, among other honors for local talent. Blair’s band, which includes many of these award-winning musicians, plays a crucial role in his music, with Blair describing them as more like family than colleagues.
The recognition of these local artists highlights the growing prominence of Manitoba’s country music scene, with Blair’s win further cementing his place in its future.
