Australia’s country music scene is celebrating a banner year of new music, touring, and standout achievements as the nominees for the 2025 Golden Guitar Awards have been revealed. The prestigious awards, part of the Toyota 53rd Tamworth Country Music Festival, will be presented on January 25, 2025, and will highlight the best in Australian country music across various categories.
With over 650 entries submitted, this year’s nominees showcase both established and emerging talent. Leading the pack is country legend Troy Cassar-Daley, who has earned six nominations, making him the most nominated artist this year. Cassar-Daley’s latest album Between The Fires has garnered nominations for Alt/Americana Country Album of the Year and Toyota Album of the Year. His hit song “Let’s Ride” is in the running for Single of the Year, while “Some Days,” co-written with Kevin Bennett, has been nominated for Song of the Year. The artist is also up for Male Artist of the Year and has earned a nomination for Heritage Song of the Year with his track “Windradyne.”
Several other artists are making strong showings, with four nominations each. These include Colin Buchanan, James Johnston, Kasey Chambers, Kingswood, and Lee Kernaghan, who all represent the diversity and breadth of Australia’s country music landscape.
