Chris Stapleton and Ashley Gorley were the big winners at the 2024 ASCAP Country Music Awards in Nashville, recognizing the songwriters and publishers behind the year’s most-performed country hits.
Stapleton was honored with the ASCAP Country Music Songwriter/Artist of the Year award, while Gorley claimed his 11th ASCAP Country Music Songwriter of the Year title — a record number in the 62-year history of the awards.
Both artists are also in the running for Song of the Year at the upcoming CMA Awards. Stapleton earned a nomination for co-writing his own hit “White Horse,” while Gorley was recognized for his contribution to “I Had Some Help,” the chart-topping collaboration between Post Malone and Morgan Wallen.
