The 2024 CMA Week kicked off in style with the SESAC Performing Rights’ Nashville Music Awards, where Megan Moroney, Jaron Boyer, and the song “Pretty Little Poison” by Warren Zeiders took center stage as the evening’s big winners. The event, held at the iconic Country Music Hall of Fame, celebrated the songwriters and publishers behind this year’s most performed country tracks.
Moroney received the prestigious SESAC Spotlight Award in recognition of her newly released album, Am I Okay?, and her impressive three CMA Award nominations, including Female Vocalist of the Year. “There’s nothing more fulfilling than writing songs,” Moroney said, expressing her gratitude. “Thank you SESAC for taking care of the songwriters.”
Meanwhile, Jaron Boyer was named SESAC’s Songwriter of the Year, celebrated for his contributions to hits like Jason Aldean’s “Let Your Boys Be Country” and George Birge’s “Mind on You.” Boyer was honored with a custom Gibson guitar as a tribute to his outstanding songwriting achievements.
