Kacey Musgraves, the Texas native and five-time Grammy nominee, credits Nashville for shaping both her career and her music. Musgraves, whose latest album Deeper Well is up for Best Country Album, recalled how the city has always been a part of her musical journey.
“I always knew that Nashville would be a destination for me,” Musgraves shared. After competing on Nashville Star at age 18, she made the move to the Music City a year later and never looked back. “I owe so much to the community here,” she said, noting how the city and its people have helped mold her as both an artist and a songwriter.
Musgraves’ love for Nashville runs deep, particularly for its vibrant songwriting community. “Nashville is home to an unparalleled songwriting community,” she explained. “Some of the best songwriters in the world are based here.” From the lively lounges and record stores to its famous dive bars, the city’s musical pulse can be felt in every corner, fueling Musgraves’ creative spirit.
