Chris Stapleton claimed top honors at the 2024 CMA Awards, taking home both the Song of the Year and Single of the Year awards for his hit “White Horse.” The song, which made a surprising victory, beat out contenders like Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help,” a track that helped Malone land four nominations and Wallen seven.
In addition to his dual wins for “White Horse,” Stapleton was also named Male Vocalist of the Year, further cementing his dominance at the ceremony held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
The night kicked off with Stapleton joining Post Malone for a performance of “California Sober,” setting the tone for a celebration of country music’s evolving sound and collaborations across genres.
Other nominees in the Song of the Year category included “Burn It Down” by Hillary Lindsey, Parker McCollum, Lori McKenna, and Liz Rose; “Dirt Cheap” by Cody Johnson; “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone feat. Morgan Wallen; and “The Painter” by Benjy Davis, Kat Higgins, and Ryan Larkins.
For Single of the Year, the competition was fierce with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey, “Dirt Cheap” by Cody Johnson, “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone feat. Morgan Wallen, and “Watermelon Moonshine” by Lainey Wilson also nominated.
