Rapcore supergroup Gridiron has dropped their latest single, “Talk Real,” a fierce anthem that blends heavy rap-rock with an unrelenting message of unity and strength. The band, composed of members from hardcore outfits like Never Ending Game, Scarab, and Simulakra, has signed with Blue Grape Music (home to bands like Code Orange and Gel) and is gearing up for a full album release in spring 2025.
The new track, which embodies a tough-as-nails attitude, is about standing firm when the moment comes and supporting your team. As vocalist Mathew Karll puts it, “It’s about rising to the occasion, playing for the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back.”
In addition to the single, Gridiron will hit the road for Northeast shows between Christmas and New Year’s, sharing the stage with Trapped Under Ice. Upcoming performances include a December 28th show at Ottobar in Baltimore with Firewalker and Polarview, followed by a December 29th show at The Blackbox in Rutherford, NJ, featuring Fury of Five, Combust, Bad Beat, and Negative Force. Gridiron will also appear at the Keystone Holiday Jam in Pennsylvania and several other dates leading up to their highly anticipated album release next year.
