GRAMMY-nominated R&B star Summer Walker has unveiled two alternate versions of her hit single “Heart of a Woman,” adding new layers to the track that’s already garnered acclaim on the Billboard Hot 100. The reimagined versions, collectively titled Heart of a Woman (Quiet Storm), showcase Walker’s signature style while incorporating fresh elements to deepen the emotional impact.
One version features the iconic voice of radio legend Doc Wynter, whose nostalgic drops infuse the sultry track with a timeless charm. Meanwhile, the other atmospheric takes include “Heart of a Woman – but you’re crying in the rain,” set against a stormy backdrop, and “Heart of a Woman – but you’re drinking wine by the fire,” featuring the soothing crackle of a fireplace.
Both versions are slated for inclusion in Walker’s highly anticipated album Finally Over It. The song dives into the frustration and resilience of navigating a turbulent relationship, with poignant lyrics such as: “Wanna give up on you but damn I know I can’t / I put the blame on me for giving you chance after chance.”
Accompanying the release is a lyric video featuring Love Island USA Season 6 winners Serena Page and Kordell Beckham. Their heartfelt portrayal of relationship highs and lows mirrors the song’s themes of enduring love despite emotional struggles.
Walker continues to capture the complexities of love and heartbreak, and Heart of a Woman solidifies her place as a powerhouse in modern R&B.
