Boldy James proves once again why he’s in the upper echelon of rap’s finest with his latest project, The Bricktionary. The Detroit rapper’s fourth album of 2024, a collaboration with NYC producer Harry Fraud, continues his streak of captivating releases. Known for his vivid storytelling about the gritty underworld of drug dealing, Boldy once again weaves intricate tales over soul-soaked beats crafted by Fraud.
The album’s lead singles, “Cecil Fielder” featuring Tee Grizzley and “Shrink Wrap” with Babyface Ray, set the tone, while tracks like “Pressin’ My Bunk,” “Pillar To Post,” “Shadowboxing,” and “Fish Grease” highlight the duo’s synergy. Spanning 12 tracks, The Bricktionary doesn’t necessarily top Boldy or Fraud’s previous works, but it’s a solid, atmospheric offering that keeps fans engaged and eagerly anticipating what’s next.
