K-pop sensation Rosé and Grammy-winning artist Bruno Mars brought their viral hit “APT” to life for the first time during a dynamic performance at the 2024 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in Osaka, Japan. The two stars took the stage in matching oversized suits, delivering a high-energy rendition of their collaboration, which has captured the global spotlight since its October release.
The catchy track, inspired by a South Korean drinking game, has become a worldwide phenomenon, amassing nearly 400 million views on YouTube and fueling a social media dance craze. Its infectious electro-pop sound and the chant of “apateu” (meaning “apartment” in Korean) have made it one of the most talked-about songs of the year, even securing a top spot on TikTok charts.
Mnet confirmed that the performance on November 22 marked the “world’s first” live rendition of “APT” at the prestigious awards ceremony.
