Country music artist Shelley Lynch is set to bring holiday cheer to Fernie and Jaffray this December with her country-rockin’ Christmas concert. On December 4 and 5, Lynch will take the stage to perform a mix of original holiday tunes and classic Christmas covers, promising a festive evening for all in attendance.
Lynch, who has built a solid reputation in the country music world, has performed on CFCN Television, Shaw Cable TV, and at the Calgary Stampede. Her latest album, Dreams and Gasoline, reached the top 100 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart, marking a significant milestone in her career.
Joining Lynch for this special holiday performance will be fellow Fernie artist and singer-songwriter Kenny Hess, who will close out the concert with a few of his own tracks.
Although Lynch now calls the South Country home, she has strong ties to Fernie, where she grew up. Excited to return to her roots, Lynch is looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and fans. “I’m a country girl and I write what I live,” she said, reflecting on her small-town upbringing.
Lynch’s holiday favorites include Rock It Out This Christmas, an upbeat, rock-infused track that captures the excitement of the season, and Merry Christmas to You, a deeply personal song dedicated to her late father and nephew.
Her latest album, Dreams and Gasoline (2021), touches on deeper themes such as isolation and emotional hardship during the pandemic. Songs like Living My Best Life and Different Kind of Lonely reflect the personal challenges of these turbulent times.
The concerts will take place at Knox United Church in Fernie on December 4 and at Jaffray Community Hall on December 5. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are available online.
