Four lucky young Western Australians had a night to remember when they met American country music star Kane Brown backstage at his concert at RAC Arena. The multi-Platinum-selling singer is currently touring Australia as part of his 2024 In the Air headline tour.
The teenagers, ranging in age from 14 to 19, had the rare opportunity to meet Brown through the U.S. Global Music Ambassadors program, a collaboration between the U.S. Department of State and YouTube’s Global Music Diplomacy Partnership. During their meeting, Brown shared his inspiring career journey and how music helped him overcome a challenging childhood.
“I’m proud to be a Global Music Ambassador and tour the world while representing country music to fans everywhere. Music brings people together, and I feel so fortunate to be a part of that through touring the world,” said Brown.
The special meet-and-greet was made possible through the U.S. Consulate Perth’s partnership with local organizations, including the Clontarf Foundation and Foyer Oxford. Consul General Siriana Nair expressed pride in Perth being chosen as the exclusive Australian location for this unique event.
“Our U.S.-Australia relationship in Western Australia is vast and vibrant, and includes close cultural and people-to-people connections. American country music is an iconic part of our culture, and we’re thrilled to share that with WA,” said Nair.
The U.S. Global Music Ambassadors program, part of the State Department-YouTube Global Music Partnership, aims to foster cultural exchange through music, strengthening ties between nations and bringing people together through the universal language of song.
