Iconic country music group Confederate Railroad will take the stage at Buffalo Gap High School on Saturday, December 14, for a special concert benefiting the school’s athletic department. The band, known for their spontaneous live performances, will deliver a setlist shaped by fan requests, promising a high-energy show filled with both hits and deep cuts from their extensive catalog.

Formed in 1981, Confederate Railroad originally served as a backing band for country legends like David Allen Coe and Johnny Paycheck. The band achieved mainstream success with their 1992 self-titled debut album, and they have since released five more studio albums, selling nearly six million copies. They were named the Academy of Country Music’s Best New Group in 1993.

Lead singer Danny Shirley explains that the band doesn’t work from a set list, but rather lets the crowd dictate the music. “Whatever pops into my head, or more often, whatever comes from the mouths of the fans,” Shirley says. The result is a dynamic, interactive show where audience favorites are sure to be heard.

The concert will be held in the school’s auditorium, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 7 p.m. Leroy Burks and the Voodoo Whiskey Band will open for Confederate Railroad. Tickets are priced at $35, which includes a meet-and-greet with the band. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Buffalo Gap athletic department.

Tickets are available for purchase online.
