Jelly Roll’s unexpected collaboration with pop-punk sensation Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) continues to gain momentum as their revamped version of John Denver’s classic “Country Roads” continues to captivate audiences worldwide. The track, now titled “Lonely Road,” has climbed its way into the Top 10 of the Official Vinyl Singles Chart in the United Kingdom, debuting at No. 9.
Released earlier this year, the song quickly made waves in multiple musical circles, and its enduring popularity is evident as it ranks alongside some of the hottest new releases on the vinyl charts. The collaboration between the two musicians, blending Jelly Roll’s genre-crossing style with MGK’s pop-punk edge, has earned significant praise and chart success.
“Lonely Road” is one of several new entries into the Top 10 this week, joining new hits from acts like OMD, Hard-Fi, and Glass Beams. Notably, the debut marks Jelly Roll’s first appearance in the vinyl chart’s top 10, while MGK, under his previous stage name, Machine Gun Kelly, had previously charted with his single “Drunk Face” earlier this year, peaking at No. 13.
In addition to its strong performance on the vinyl charts, “Lonely Road” also debuted on the Official Physical Singles Chart, entering at No. 17. This chart tracks sales across CD, cassette, and vinyl formats, further solidifying the song’s broad appeal.
Released in July just as Jelly Roll was preparing for the launch of his new album, Beautifully Broken, “Lonely Road” was initially a standalone single. The song’s success has been especially notable in English-speaking markets, where it even reached No. 67 on the U.K. singles chart, marking a major milestone for both artists as they expand their influence beyond the U.S.
With Jelly Roll continuing to make waves in the country and hip-hop worlds, and MGK carving out a niche in the pop-punk scene, “Lonely Road” stands as a testament to their ability to cross genre boundaries and resonate with audiences across the globe.
