KBS’s highly anticipated annual K-pop festival, the 2024 KBS Gayo Daechukje Global Festival, is set to take place on December 20 at Kintex in Ilsan, South Korea. This year’s event will explore the theme of “infinity,” symbolizing the timeless and boundless connection of K-pop artists through music across time and space.
The festival will be hosted by rapper Zico, IVE’s Jang Won-young, and actor Kim Young-dae, who will guide the celebration of K-pop’s diverse talents. A star-studded lineup of performers is set to take the stage, including boy bands NCT 127, NCT Dream, Enhypen, and BoyNextDoor, alongside girl groups aespa, G(I)-DLE, IVE, Kep1er, Kiss Of Life, as well as veteran acts like Bada, Jinusean, and DJ Koo.
The festival promises to be a thrilling showcase of K-pop’s best and brightest, and will be broadcast live on KBS2 at 8:30 p.m. K-pop fans hoping to attend in person can register for festival seats beginning on December 6 at 2 p.m., with registration closing on December 8 at 11:59 p.m. via the official festival website and Interpark Ticket.
In addition to the South Korea event, KBS will also hold a Japan edition, the 2024 Music Bank Global Festival in Japan, which will take place on December 14-15 at the Mizuho PayPay Dome in Fukuoka. This event will be hosted by actors Shin Ye-eun, Moon Sang-min, and Le Sserafim’s Hong Eun-chae. The Japan festival will be aired on KBS2 on December 19 at 8:30 p.m.
Both events promise to be monumental celebrations of K-pop’s global reach, uniting fans from around the world to enjoy some of the genre’s top performers.
