Bruno Mars has achieved a remarkable milestone, shattering Spotify’s record for monthly listeners—without even releasing a new solo album in eight years. The chart-topping artist, whose catalog of hits continues to resonate with fans worldwide, has surged to the top of Spotify’s listener charts, driven by both his timeless songs and two recent global collaborations.
On October 29, Mars overtook The Weeknd as the most-streamed artist on Spotify, surpassing 120.7 million monthly listeners. The following day, he set a new all-time record with over 126 million listeners. His popularity continued to soar, and by November 12, Mars became the first artist in history to exceed 130 million monthly listeners. On November 25, he broke another record, topping 135 million listeners, and as of November 29, his monthly listeners stand at a staggering 135.54 million—an impressive feat considering Spotify’s total user base now stands at 640 million.
Mars’ recent collaborations have only fueled his growing dominance. His duet with Lady Gaga, Die With A Smile, released in August, surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, making it the fastest track to reach this milestone. Additionally, his October collaboration with Blackpink’s ROSÉ, APT., is approaching half a billion streams.
The surge in Mars’ popularity is a significant achievement for both Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group, which released APT. in partnership with ROSÉ’s label, Interscope. As the artist continues to break records, his enduring influence on the streaming platform cements his place as one of the most dominant figures in contemporary music.
