Country music legend Dwight Yoakam is set to perform at the Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca this coming April, alongside The Mavericks. The highly anticipated show will follow the release of his latest album, Brighter Days.
Yoakam made a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he showcased a track from the new album. Brighter Days marks Yoakam’s first studio release since 2016’s Swimmin’ Pools, Movie Stars, and includes a collaboration with chart-topping artist Post Malone.
Known for his distinctive honky-tonk style and unmistakable voice, Yoakam has been a cornerstone of country music since the mid-1980s. His first three albums topped the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, and his career boasts numerous hits, including “Streets of Bakersfield” and “I Sang Dixie,” as well as 12 other top 10 singles. His catalog also features original songs like “Guitars, Cadillacs” and “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere,” along with memorable covers of iconic artists such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Queen.
Born in Kentucky, Yoakam carved his path outside Nashville, drawing inspiration from the Bakersfield sound that became integral to his music. In 2019, he was honored with the President’s Award by BMI for his contributions to the industry.
Now releasing his 21st studio album, Yoakam continues to captivate fans with his blend of traditional country and modern influences. Fans can look forward to experiencing his timeless hits and new material live at the Seneca Allegany Casino next spring.
