American rock band Falling in Reverse has been forced to cancel their upcoming Glasgow performance due to frontman Ronnie Radke’s visa denial, stemming from his criminal record.
The band was scheduled to perform at the Glasgow Hydro next Tuesday as part of their The Popular MonsTOUR II: World Domination tour, marking their first UK tour. However, the UK Home Office rejected Radke’s visa application, citing his previous criminal conviction. Radke, 40, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in 2008 after violating probation, following a previous charge involving a 2006 altercation that led to the death of an 18-year-old man. While the incident was ruled self-defense, Radke was charged with possession of brass knuckles.
In a statement, the band confirmed the cancellation, explaining that UK immigration laws prevent entry for individuals with a criminal record of over 12 months in prison. “We regret to announce that the Home Office has denied Ronnie’s visa application for the remaining 2024 UK shows,” the statement read. “We will be postponing the shows to next year while we continue to work through this issue legally to obtain the necessary visa.”
Fans in Glasgow and across the UK expressed disappointment over the news, with some taking to social media to voice their frustration. The band assured ticket holders that refunds are available and promised to keep fans updated on rescheduled dates.
