BABYMETAL delivered an electrifying performance at Vibrant Music Hall in Waukee, as part of their ongoing world tour. The Japanese metal trio, renowned for pioneering the “kawaii metal” genre, captivated the audience with their signature fusion of idol pop vocals, intricate choreography, and heavy metal instrumentation.
The evening began with a dramatic Star Wars-style scroll, setting the stage for a cosmic journey into the “Metalverse.” The scroll’s message, “A long time ago in a heavy metal galaxy far, far away…” built anticipation, culminating in the question: “Are you ready to headbang?” The crowd’s response was immediate and deafening, eagerly embracing the night’s energy.
Lead vocalists Su-metal, Moametal, and Momometal were joined by their masked backing musicians, known as the “Kami Band,” whose instrumental prowess added layers of intensity to the already high-octane performance. BABYMETAL’s blend of light-hearted, high-energy pop vocals with heavy, thrashing metal rhythms brought fans on an unforgettable ride through their unique “Metalverse.”
