Swedish melodic death metal band The Halo Effect has released the music video for their latest track, “Cruel Perception.” Directed by Johan Carlén, the video pays homage to the band’s hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden, and sets the stage for their highly anticipated second album, March Of The Unheard, due out January 10, 2025.
“Cruel Perception” is filled with intricate guitar harmonies and melodies, inspired by guitarist Niclas Engelin’s late-night acoustic guitar sessions. Engelin reflected on the song’s evolution from a casual acoustic idea to a full-fledged melodic death metal anthem. He added, “It’s amazing how a simple idea can transform into something so powerful with the magic of the whole band in the studio. We can’t wait to perform this live for our fans!”
