Texas Queensland Country Music Festival Announces Hiatus

by Barbara

The Texas Queensland Country Music Festival will be taking a break “for the foreseeable future,” following its successful 2023 event that featured performances by Travis Collins, Amber Lawrence, Taylor Moss, and more. The announcement came on December 9, leaving fans and artists alike reflecting on the festival’s impact.

The 2023 festival, held from September 26 to September 28, spanned three days and showcased talent across three stages. In addition to the headliners, the event featured performances by Jayne Denham, Paul Costa, Tyla Rodrigues, Jeremy Turner, Piper Rodrigues, Night Owls, and many more. The festival also included vibrant markets, a dedicated Kidzone, a bar, and a variety of food options, offering everything expected from a country music celebration.

While organisers have not specified the reasons behind the hiatus, the announcement comes at a challenging time for the Australian music festival scene. This year has seen several major events either cancel or pause, including Splendour In The Grass, Groovin’ The Moo, and Dark Mofo. The ongoing cost-of-living crisis has also affected smaller boutique festivals, contributing to a broader struggle across the industry.
