Just a few years ago, Bailey Zimmerman was working on gas pipelines in rural Illinois, with no plans of ever stepping into the country music spotlight. Today, he’s a rising star with multiple No. 1 hits, a Billboard 200 Top 10 debut album, and a nomination for New Artist of the Year at the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards.
“I thought I was gonna build gas pipelines for the rest of my life, honestly,” Zimmerman recalled. “I actually went through many things before I got to singing.” But once he found his way to music, his rise was nothing short of meteoric.
Zimmerman’s debut album, Religiously. The Album., quickly made waves, landing in the Billboard 200 Top 10 and cementing his place as one of country music’s hottest new acts. His rapid success came as a shock, even to him. “I was so scared coming into Nashville because I had just started singing and I know how hard people work and how long people work to get where I’ve gotten to be at,” Zimmerman admitted. “To have country music wrap its arm around me… you can’t get better than that.”
With raw talent, hard work, and a little bit of fate, Zimmerman has gone from the trenches of pipeline construction to the heights of country music fame—a journey that shows no signs of slowing down.
