Garth Brooks Uses Country Legends for Proposal to Trisha Yearwood

Garth Brooks

Garth Brooks pulled out all the stops for his unforgettable proposal to Trisha Yearwood, enlisting country legends Merle Haggard and George Jones in the process.

In his newly released book, The Anthology Part IV: Going Home, Brooks reveals that he proposed at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California, during the “Legends in Bronze” event. The event, which celebrated large bronze statues of country music icons, included statues of Haggard, Jones, and other legends like George Strait and Bob Wills. Brooks, who was deeply involved in creating his own statue, famously asked artist Bill Rains, “Can you put a wedding ring on it?” The Anthology Part IV: Going Home was released on Friday.
