Megan Moroney captivated the crowd with an electrifying performance of her hit song “Man on the Moon” at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards. The outdoor, nighttime setting provided a perfect backdrop as Moroney sang the introspective lyrics, “Houston, he’s a problem/ He’s leaving then he’s calling,” from her acclaimed sophomore album Am I Okay?.
Nominated for Top Female Country Artist, Moroney is up against heavyweights such as Beyoncé and Lainey Wilson. Am I Okay? has been a standout success, climbing to No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and securing a spot in the Top 10 of the all-genre Billboard 200. The album’s title track also made waves earlier this year, landing in the Top 20 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
For the performance, Moroney broke from her usual royal blue wardrobe—an homage to the album cover—in favor of a sparkling red gown and matching boots. The intimate, Carnival Cruise-branded stage added a unique touch, with Moroney backed by her band under a spotlight, delivering an unforgettable rendition of “Man on the Moon.”
The Billboard Music Awards, which aired Thursday, Dec. 12 on Fox and Fire TV Channels, featured a star-studded lineup, with leading nominees including Zach Bryan, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, and Sabrina Carpenter.
