The Heartland-based band, Florida Boards, will take the stage at Highlands Hammock State Park on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. for a special Music in the Park concert.
Formed nearly a decade ago, Florida Boards is led by lead singer and guitarist Kendal Sheen, alongside fellow musicians Dawn Smith (vocals), Clinton Anderson (keyboard), Harrison Havery (bass), and Sawyer Humphrey (drums). The band is well-known locally for their performances at events like the Abide and Circle of Truth concerts, as well as their regular shows at various venues across the area.
The band’s eclectic musical influences range from the laid-back sounds of Jimmy Buffett and Zac Brown to the reggae vibes of Stick Figure, as well as blues, rock-and-roll, and classic Southern rock.
Tickets for the concert are priced at $15 per adult, with children under 12 admitted for free. Please note that pets are not allowed. Music in the Park concerts are presented by the Friends of Highlands Hammock State Park, with proceeds supporting park improvements.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and flashlights to enjoy an evening of live music under the stars. Food and refreshments will be available from the Hammock Inn concession and local food vendors.
